Every year in America, there are many states that end up having summers that expose excessive heat directly to innocent people causing injury. According to the CDC, studies show that there are an average of about 658 innocent lives taken from heat-related events every year in the U.S. One of the very serious medical conditions caused by extreme heat is referred to as a medical condition called heat stroke. Heat stroke is a very severe form of a heat-related illness that takes place when an individual has been exposed to extreme heat for a prolonged amount of time. Sadly, there have been many incidents where people have not been able to survive heat stroke once it has taken place. Some of the signs and symptoms of heat stroke include an internal body temperature of more than 103 degrees Fahrenheit, red hot and dry skin but with no sweating, rapid strong pulse, throbbing headache, nausea, confusion, lightheadedness, dizziness and even being unconscious. Some individuals are also much more vulnerable than others such as younger children and elderly adults.
